Hey Ron,

That's quite a "rogue's gallery" there. Seriously, that looks like a great place and a wonderful site to hunt. Lots of memories, past, present and to be.

Thanks,
Clark

Great picture Ron I love that kind of living. I don't hunt but love the old ways of living.

Congrats! It all looks good.  We have 11 more days (as of 10/20/09) to wait here in Penna. before our fall turkey season begins.

went to the roost for a few days to hunt with my friend ron meek ...the opening week his hunters had a great time..with junior and me....this time i had dixie lou along with junior and grectchen we had some great busts...me i was looking for a long bird...yesterday ron had to dig a large hole for work...he works at a cematary...lol...so i took off on my own to a few rons hot spots i didnt go 2 miles and i spot a large mixed flock in a green field that the farmer was spreading cow chit...i called ron to get the ok he knew the owner and the hunt was on...when we got to the field edge the birds were exiting i let the DOGS OUT!!!!...well it was nonstop barking for 20 mins...birds flying everywhere....when the dogs got back we set up....i had a gobbler almost in he  was yelpin and cluckin   kinda snappy then it goobled...but unknown to me a hen was in the tree next to me and gave the warning putt...i flushed her out the tree...and made a move across the hill set up and started calling on my brass cannington spur hill trumpet with the wingbone mouth piece cause i can get deep gobbler clucks and yelps...also i can gobble too...the birds 6 or 5 were gobbling and yelping moving away up the hill...i let the dogs go for a secondary scatter....it was 1130 am and i wait till about noon ...i heard the town whistle blow....i clucked and did a couple yelps on the trumpet...i heard a gobble way off...soon the gobbler was standing  in front of me both dogs frozen like statues...i shot him at 40 paces with winchester number 5 supreams 10 1/4  beard 1 5/8 spurs and 18 1/2 lbx a true fall trophy

Sweet bird Ron!

I would love to do a fall hut with you and experience hunting them with dogs!
It seems like a real rush!
