Hey!  I am a 2 year turkey hunter from Destin, Fl... but I do most of my hunting near Selma...  I also hunt in the FL Panhandle when I cannot make the 3 hour drive.

First post on this site.

Live in North AL and hunt Southern Middle TN mostly, but spend a few days a year in South AL. Just started hunting AL 4 or 5 years ago on some WMA's and now have some private land places to hunt in South AL finally. The hunting here in North AL is not as good as other areas I hunt, but I still give it a try here and there.

What's up WORDBIRD?

Been doing it for 15 or so years now and can't get enough of it.

Gentlemen,

Center Alabama here, going on my 27th year of playing old tom chess and love hunting the Eastern (Alabama & Georgia), Oeceola (Florida) and Rio Grande (Texas).  I hope to include Merriam (Montana) this year.  Good hunting in dixie country.

New member here.  I love to Turkey hunt.  It's all I want to do in Spring.
Pretty lucky this year. Four birds total.
#1--18 1/4 lbs. 10 inch beard and 1 inch spurs.
#2--20 lbs. 10 3/4 beard and 1 1/4 spurs.
#3-- 20 3/4 lbs. 10 1/2 inch beard and 1 inch spurs.
#4--21 3/4 lbs. 10 1/4 inch beard and 1 1/4 spurs.

Missed #5 and let two jakes walk.

I hunt in Chilton County.  Lake Mitchelle area.

Ozark, Alabama here. Roll Tide. Stationed at Fort Rucker. Hunted our camp in Russell County and on Fort Rucker this year. Had a great 2009 season.

#1. 19.5 lbs, 8 inch beard, 1 inch spurs
#2. 21 lbs, 9 inch beard, 1 1/4 and 1 inch spurs
#3. 22.5 lbs, 10.5 inch beard, both 1 1/4 inch spurs

The first one I killed was with a bigger bird but they flew in so close I did't get a chance to take the big one. The last one I killed came off the roost from behind me and landed next to the tree I was sitting on, the wind from him landing threw leaves on my legs. Shot him at 7 feet. Man what a thrill. Called a nice one in for my 15 yr old also. This year the priority goes to my nine yr old.

Tuscaloosa, AL. RTR! This will be my second season, first in Alabama. Haven't bagged a tom yet, but my hopes for this season are high and I can't wait to get out there!
